Passion and Bio Quality
Podere Ruggeri Farm, owned by the Ristori family, breeds Calvana beef cattle, Cinta Senese pigs, Saanen and Chamois Coloured goats for milk, Skudde sheep, Indian Runner ducks, chickens and other farmyard animals, and cultivates olive trees for the production of Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
The farm is located in the beautiful hills between Sieci and Monterifrassine just 10 km ( 6.2 miles) from the Firenze Sud highway exit, and consists of 10 hectares of olive groves where the animals are free to graze all year round, as they are raised semi-wild and on about 40 hectares of arable land for producing organic fodder and cereals for feeding livestock.
Love of nature
The farm’s philosophy focuses above all on animal welfare and a healthy diet, mainly self-produced, both for ethical reasons and for excellent product quality.
Thanks to the fact that, starting with the hens, all the animals have wide open spaces where they can graze all day long, the farm is able to manage the greenery in the most ecological way possible, almost completely eliminating the use of mechanical equipment.
The farm sells its own Organic products: goat cheese, salami and fresh meats, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, completely free range hen’s eggs and other local products such as vegetables and seasonal fruit.
